Customers who work closely with Italians often ask me for advice on some verb related to office activities.

Italiano in ufficio: attività quotidiane

• Fissare / rimandare un appuntamento / un incontro – to arrange meeting / to postpone an appointment / meeting;

• Accogliere clienti – to receive, meet clients;

• Dare / eseguire ordini – to issue instructions / to execute orders;

• Organizzare / convocare / anticipare / posticipare / cancellare riunione – to organize / to call / to bring forward / to postpone / to cancel a meeting;

• Essere in riunione – to be in conference;

• Stendere il verbale della riunione – to write meeting minutes;

• Mettere a verbale una riunione – to include (sth.) in a meeting minutes;

• Rispondere alle / ricevere  le chiamate – to answer calls;

• Annotare,  prendere una nota / un appunto – take a note, to write down;

• Essere in malattia – to be on seak leave;

• Inviare il certificato / foglio di malattia – to send the employer the sick note;

• Prendere un giorno libero –  to take a day off;

• Usufruire di un permesso retribuito – to take an advantage of a paid leave;

• Andare in ferie – to go on holiday; to go on leave;

• Fare pausa (per un caffè) – to take a break / to take a coffee break
